Binance introduces WBETH staking through EigenLayer integration

Binance has introduced staking support for Wrapped Beacon ETH (WBETH) via EigenLayer. In an announcement on March 25, 2025, Binance said the new staking feature on the Binance Earn platform will allow users to earn rewards in the native EigenLayer token EIGEN. Notably, it allows holders to participate in decentralized finance projects and still be eligible for Ether staking rewards. Binance noted that the WBETH integration into Binance’s On-Chain Yields feature will allow users to tap into the EigenLayer protocol for rewards, enabling stakers to earn EIGEN while still accruing on-chain rewards from their staked ETH. The exchange noted: “Binance On-Chain Yields is launching EigenLayer WBETH Staking from 2025-03-25 10:00 (UTC). Users can subscribe and stake their WBETH to earn on-chain rewards sourced from the EigenLayer Protocol.” Earn rewards To participate, a user needs to subscribe to the WBETH On-Chain Yields product, which is accessible on the Binance platform’s Earn section. Rewards accrue from the day after one subscribes and depend on the amount of staked WBETH. As noted, users can earn two types of rewards when they participate in EigenLayer WBETH staking. The first on are WBETH rewards that accrue from holding WBETH. These represent the user’s staked ETH as well as any staking rewards. Earned WBETH rewards do not land into the user’s spot account. Rather, they accrue and increase that staker’s WBETH value. EigenLayer rewards, distributed in native EIGEN tokens, is the second type of reward. The system records these rewards daily from 00:00 UTC and distributes them at the staking period. It’s an opportunity for more people to leverage avenue opportunities for earnings as they contribute to the security of the Ethereum ecosystem. EIGEN price As EigenLayer staking gains traction, Binance’s move positions it as a key player in bridging traditional staking with DeFi innovation, potentially driving further adoption of WBETH and enhancing the Ethereum staking ecosystem. Ethereum traded at $2,060, WBETH at $2,194 and EigenLayer price at $1.15. All the tokens were slightly in the red as crypto’s latest uptick looked to fade. Ethereum price reached highs of $4,800 at its peak during the last bull cycle. Meanwhile, EIGEN rallied to reach $5.65 on December 17, 2024.
